Question by saraparker: How can you tell if a Gucci handbag (vintage) is authentic?
It's embossed "Gucci" on the flap, I just wonder if people were pirating stuff like they are now..
Tried to find a similar one on eBay, very unusual bag with flaps on both sides (opens from front and back) very cute, but no gold stamped "made in italy for gucci" whatever. Just trying to get an idea of what to sell it for......

Check the lining. A real bag would have a great lining, and you would be able to tell that craftsmanship went into it. A pirater wouldn't waste the time on the lining.
