The lame game
There comes a moment in every young person's existence when they are happily elbow-deep in some laboriously consuming trend or 'lifestyle choice' and things become completely, helplessly ruined by an authority figure getting on board and chummily attempting to join in.

I recently purchased a Dooney & Bourke Signature East/West Tote bag.?
It's pink-tone and fabric like materials (not the handle). I am trying to figure out how to care for it w/out it getting too dirty. Should I Scotch Guard the outside?
I have a Dooney & Bourke that is brown with the logo on it.I don't know the name of it, but it is rather long, has handles and a long strap and is one of the original styles. I don't do anything to mine but wipe it off occasionally with a damp cloth. You might want to contact the company(there should be an address included), and see what they recommend. I have had mine for 2 years and it still looks brand new.
You won't find Zorba in Little Bourke Street in Melbourne. He has long ago headed for retirement in the Cretan hills, sitting with his goats and looking down on modern folk with a wry grin and a shake of his head.
You won't find him at the Kri Kri Mezedopoleion in Melbourne, so don't go looking for him there. No swaying lines of mesmerised dancers doing fancy footwork. No loud laughter and pats on the back. Not a blue and white colour combination in sight. No, this is not a traditional Greek taverna, it is a modern Greek restaurant serving Cretan food, but don't expect a ruddy faced shepherd to pop over to your table to offer you a sfinaki of raki.
Expect a relaxed yet modern atmosphere very much attuned to the modern sophisticate. Expect good, fresh food, good yet impersonal service, true meze dishes and an extensive wine list.
The Kri Kri is still owned and operated by a Cretan family, but don't expect yiayia to pop out wearing the ubiquitous black dress, sprouting words of wisdom and pinching your cheek. Don't expect kids running around to all hours of the night and every second man to be named Giorgos.
Expect to find the Kri Kri in a narrow laneway at the top end of Little Bourke Street, an incongruous location as it is now surrounded by Chinese dragons. Expect a stylish ochre and wooden room with a well-stocked bar and a second floor banquet space ready for the next baptism party. Expect to swoon when you taste the kefalograviera saganaki or fried graviera cheese, enjoy fresh horta or wild greens and melitzanosalata or eggplant dip.
Kri Kri is named after the wild goats of Crete, which today run free protected in the mountains in the National Park of Samaria. In Crete, domestic goats are kept for many reasons; milk and cheese being their primary offerings, but every now and then they are taken for their meat and there is goat on the menu here. Lamb is a more stable favourite of the island and is also offered here.
True meze is a staple of the Greek way of dining, with small plates of a wide variety of dishes shared by everyone at the table. The plural of this word is mezedes. The Kri Kri restaurant was one of the first Greek restaurants to offer this style of dining in Melbourne and is still to this day described as a ΜεζεδοπωλεÞον mezedopoleion, or a place of mezedes.
You don't have to be Greek or Cretan to enjoy good, fresh food. The diet of Crete is often considered the healthiest in the world. It is a naturally healthy balance of vegetables, fruits and nuts in a wide variety, with smaller proportions of meat. The Kri Kri serves all of these and recommends you try sharing from a collection of little plates, enjoying some good conversation in this friendly atmosphere, without needing to search for that larger than life character, Zorba.
