Coach Wrist
Utah Jazz Team Report
Even though he missed his second consecutive game Friday with a sprained and bruised right wrist, Deron Williams might have no choice but to play Saturday night when the Jazz play the Mavericks in his hometown of Dallas.

How much are coach wrist-lets?

I want a new Coach wrist-let because my old one is super old, and last season. My parents won't get me a new one. So I have to play for it. =(

How much did you pay for your old one? I got a few for $120.

Ask anyone, they will tell you they are afraid of something. If they don't, they are not being honest with you or themselves. Everyone has fears, not everyone does something to conquer those fears. But why would you want to conquer your fears?

Brian Tracy said:" You must do the thing that you fear until the fear of that thing becomes no more." Here is talking about the way to conquer fear. I found plenty of quotes on how to conquer fears. But when I did a search on "why conquer fears" only 3 pages came up. We are in a society of how, when we should be wondering why. If you know why you have a fear of something, it is much easier to conquer it. If you seek how to conquer fear and do not know why... it is the same as taking pain pill for a broken limb. When you break your wrist for example, you are in pain. You know why you are in pain and fix the problem, have a cast put on to fix your arm. And that will take away the pain. If you only take pain killers until you feel no more pain, you don't fix your problem and furthermore, cause even bigger ones.

The same for your fears. If you don't find out why you fear something, you may not necessarily conquer it by asking how to conquer it. Let me illustrate. An adult is afraid of storms today and can't figure out why. They try different methods to conquer that fear and after years of trying, that adult is still afraid. That fear of storm just won't go away. Maybe as a child something traumatizing happened during a storm and that is why this person is afraid today. Once the why has been identified and he/she deals with that problem instead of the storm itself, the fear of storms may go away. Now I am not a therapist of any kind, so please no comments on my accuracy of this story. I was just illustrating an example of fear that focused on how to conquer it before the why has been discovered.

Once you know why you fear something then it is time to move onto how to conquer it. And yes I do agree with Brian Tracy, in most cases, we do have to conquer fear by confronting it. Don't let fear take over, you must have faith that you can take control over your fears. Believe that you have the power to confront it, go through it and conquer it. Besides, God told us we can conquer any fear. That our fear is our lack of control over events. So take control and you will conquer.

Most people are afraid to conquer their fear for lack of confidence or worth of themselves. They don't feel they can conquer their fear because they can't be that good, that important. One of the biggest fear as a human, if not the biggest one is the fear of public speech. I think the reason for this is because they think too much about what others think about them. Don't be afraid of what others think about you, especially if it stops you growing as a person. I will let you in on a secret. In general, people are not at all thinking about you, They are thinking of themselves and what you think about them.

I will leave you with a quote. I love this quote that I originally heard in the movie "Coach Carter". Every time I hear it, I get shivers. Maybe in future articles, I will talk more about self worth and self confidence.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." (A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles", Harper Collins, 1992. From Chapter 7, Section 3]
